So you’re not a jeans guy. It’s OK. There’s some fashion experts out there who advise against wearing jeans EVER, unless you’re a day laborer. And while that’s a little militant for us, we get that there are times when you want to step outside the denim box and don something a little different, but still comfortable.
Below we’ve listed several jean alternatives that count as casual and informal wear, but are decidedly not blue jeans. If you’re a man who likes to stand out from the crowd and show your unconventional side, consider some of these options:
Makia Cord Trousers: A good casual pant you can wear with cool sneakers and a button down.
Jack & Jones Vintage Dale Twisted Chinos: Cuff them or don’t, these are still a quirky twist on the “same old” chino. Wear them with ankle boots and a slim tee.
Dockers Alpha Khakis: A little dressier than your basic dark wash jean, but still casual enough to dress down with a faded oxford and some distressed leather kicks.
Levi’s 511 Skinny Revolver Pants: Again, a tad dressier than your average jean, but still looks comfortable and informal enough for a casual Friday. Pair these with some shiny leather boots or oxfords.
Men’s Perfect Shape Cargo Pants: The most casual option of all. This is pure weekend wear to be worn with Vans or Converse and a jean jacket or tee.
Men’s Slim Fit Corduroys: Cords are back in style and this is a nice “jeaning” up of the pant. These can be worn with ankle boots, sneakers, or dressier shoes and paired with a utility jacket.
There is life after denim. If you want to mix it up a little, try some of the above and make the looks your own.
