Silk is a natural fibre that originated from China. Produced through the cocoones of silkworms this fibre has been used to streghten textiles and clothes. Silk is particularly soft in its texture and very shiny due to its molecular structure. Thereby its aethetically pleasing and very prominent in the fashion world.
Silk can also be produced by caterpillars and other larvae and spiders, honester and silk farms are used to mass produce this material.
Silk can be used in scarfs, shirts and dresses. Anything that touches the skin can be woven in silk due to its softness. However unlike cloth it is less water absorbent.
