Quick Definition: A element of darkness cast by the ego that creates human suffering.
Ekchard explains this better than me in The Power of Now:
“The pain-body, which is the dark shadow cast by the ego, is actually afraid of the light of your consciousness. It is afraid of being found out. Its survival depends on your unconscious identification with it, as well as on your unconscious fear of facing the pain that lives within you. But if you don’t face it, if you don’t bring the light of your consciousness into the pain, you will be forced to relive it again and again.
With Presense, you are not the witness or the watcher of the pain-body. This means that it cannot use you anymore by pretending to be you, and it it can no longer replenish itself through you. You have found your own innermost strength. You have accessed the power of Now.”
When I read The Power Of Now I immediately saw how the pain body uses itself to create suffering for aspiring PUAs. Particularly because there are so many potential insecurities that guys learning this have. Because of their mentality and desire to improve themselves, the pain body can latch on to their negative thoughts of themselves.
Even when a PUA improves, pain body can attach itself to the new “alter ego” that we developed, adding ego and being boastful of our accomplishments in game. When in fact, we should just be humble and realize that this is a skill set that will help us become better with women and social interactions. No more, no less.
Be aware of the pain bodies that govern your thoughts about rejection from women.
