The most common DLVs are anything that a PUA might do that communicates he does not have strong social skills and lacks social values. Making faux pas, failing shit tests, and coming across as incongruent or approval seeking are all common ways in which men typically DLV themselves.
DLVs can also be anything that communicates the opposite of a DHV. For example, instead of communicating that he is a leader of men, a DLV shows that the PUA is follower who lacks leadership skills. Another example would be saying or doing something that shows that the PUA is not very popular with women (“I haven’t been laid in 9 months!”), instead of communicating pre-selection and social proof.
DLVs are different from disqualifications, which are used when a PUA purposely mentions something that is considered “bad” about himself in order to strategically disqualify himself as a suitor in the eyes of the target, or lower his perceived value so that his target does not feel he is unattainable. DLVs are unintentional and cause a negative reaction in those around him.
When you told her you still lived with your mom, that was a DLV.
