Chinos are khaki colored pants made from chino cloth, a type of woven cotton.

Chinos are nearly identical to khaki pants, and the two terms are often used interchangeably, although fashionistas claim that there is a difference between the two. Since there is no formal definition or standard for khakis or chinos, the main difference is that chinos are often designed in a dressier style, fit better, and cost more than khaki pants.

If you’re looking to create high-end fashion look or preppy look, you may want to consider a pair of chinos in your wardrobe, as they are typically designed in the fashion of dress pants, and are perfect for any smart casual look. As with khakis, avoid pleats at all costs.
