For those of you who are reading or have read the Seduce With Style EBook, you will recall the the style evolution chart:
A lot of guys have been asking me to provide more examples of the artist 1 archetype. Because guy 2 we see all the time at the club, and the artist 2 is rare to come by. Well, I will do so in this post. It is important to remember that the artist I type is simply the best dressed guy for the occasion. To do this, he does’t need to stand out in a crazy way. He simply blends in and has subtle differences in style (and attitude).
Examples of Artist 1 images include the following: (Adam Lyons, Hitch, Gambler, Jeffy, Jeremy Piven, Papa and Tim from RSD)
These guys stand out in a stylish way. They conform to the “rules” but yet breaks them in subtle ways. They learn to bend the things that are possible instead of totally breaking the rules, as artist 2 does. With Artist type 2, you need to know the rules in order to break them. Artist 1 simply knows the style rules and uses it to his advantage.
Another way to think about it is: if you take an average guy and dress him up in artist 1 clothes, he may be able to pull it off. People will think he looks better and may treat him better. If you take an average guy and dress him up in artist 2 type clothes, he won’t have the personality to back it up. Instead, he’ll look like he’s trying way too hard. This is because artist 2 requires a very strong and congruence identity to the style that is being displayed.
Take a look at Matt Hussey, a confidence coach dressing up and looking the part:
Or even a celebrity like Leo DiCaprio. Minus his fame, his style is a artist 1 category:
For an idea of the artist 2 type, take a look at Tommy Lee…
And Criss Angel, both of whom push the limits with their artist level 2 archetype
