That is a good point about the 'chicken or egg' as you so nicely put it :). When I was younger I started learning magic. I would just perform in a t-shirt and jeans. Thing is I new I wanted to have that unique apperance about me that would add to my performance. However back then I did not have the confidence to do it.

When I got older and had worked on my confidence/inner mindset, I decided to buy a few rings, wrist band, necklaces etc. I bought clothes that were more congruent with my character, but slightly outside my comfort zone.

You are right. I felt uncomfortable when I first ventured out into the real world. However I knew it was what I wanted and so just went for it. Now I feel completely comfortable. I could not tell you if it makes a difference to the girls when I talk to them but it makes a difference to me. My mind set is better because I feel so much more comfortable with myself.

The point being: Don't be afraid to try something new if it is really what you want and congruent with your natural character.

Good point. I think it's helpful, especially when you're just starting to develop a personal style, to model people who already have an attractive look. Too many guys are stuck wearing t-shirts and jeans, and it's important to have sexy stereotypes to model.

I agree you shouldn't try to fake anything, and should model stereotypes that are congruent with yourself, whether that's a rocker or biker, or chic nerd or business man. There's a bit of chicken or egg when it comes to congruence, though-- sometimes you have to wear a look for a while before you become congruent with it. There's usually a short period of discomfort when you step outside of your regular fashion boundaries.

Good stuff. 'Modeling a sexual stereotype, a PUA can receive instant attraction from women who are attracted to that type.' Great point to make and I am sure would work. But why model it when you could become it. Example - Don't act like a biker. Buy a motorbike and become a biker :)

However you definitely need to be congruent with your own natural character. I would not want the hassle of having to be a certain stereotype just to get laid if it is not congruent with my character. Meaning if I want to be a biker it's because I want to buy a bike and go out riding. Not because it will help me to meet women.

Never try to be someone else. Be yourself and make the most of what you have. Everyone has the ability to attract women on their own merit. Trust me, in the long run you will be much happier.
