One Night Stand (ONS)

Full Definition:

One night stands are mainly based on sexual attraction, without expectations for a long term relationship based on personalities. With ONSs, it is not as important to build deep rapport or an emotional connection with the woman, although some degree of comfort is needed so that the woman trusts the PUA enough to sleep with him.

Women are more likely to engage in one night stands when they are away from their social circle, and in an environment where they do not expect to see their sexual partner again. Thus, women who travel abroad tend to be more promiscuous and engage in more ONSs. Men who travel abroad also tend to find women more receptive to ONSs, as there is little chance that they will see each other again.

ONSs are most common between strangers, which is a fact that PUAs can use to their advantage when doing cold approaches. However, ONSs can and do happen between people who have known each other for a long time as well, although such trysts can lead to awkward social situations.

One night stands can sometimes lead to further relationships such as LTRs, MLTRs, and FBs, but more often they are a one time thing with no expectation of a future relationship.
