Well. I still say “kino” or “kineshetics” because I’m a total Mystery junkie and it sounds cool. And We still call Native Americans Indians.

Hey AW. I’m not sure there’s anything more to say about it. Mystery just chose the wrong word is all. So unfortunate when that happens. Like when Columbus named the native Americans “Indians”.

Someone really needs to point out that kinesthesis / kinesthesia / kinesthetics does NOT mean touch. In fact, there is nothing in the definition that implies touch. Kinesthesia is synonymous with proprioception, which is the ability to discern the location of one’s bodily parts without using any of the five senses. Close your eyes and touch your nose with your index finger. Assuming you grab your face to find your nose, you are using proprioception, aka kinesthesis. Have you ever noticed as you fall asleep that sometimes you can’t tell where your arm is? That is a loss of kinesthesia / proprioception.

A word that DOES mean touch is “tactual”.

I’ve always read that it should be a smooth gradual progression. Just have the intent to touch her and do what comes naturally otherwise it’ll be awkward. Get out of your mind and into feeling the moment.
