Kino is one of the key elements of pickup. Kino helps to establish a precedence of touching a woman, and can also be used to communicate sexual interest in a woman. This can help prevent a PUA from ending up in the friend zone. Overt kino can also be used to arouse a woman and get her into a sexual state.
Psychological studies show that casual touching during a friendly conversation causes people to remember the conversation more fondly after the fact. In pickup, starting kino early establishes touch as a normal conduit of one’s behavior, and can help with escalating smoothly to the bedroom.
AFCs often to not build enough kino during an interaction, waiting until the last minute to go for a kiss, which seems forced and awkward, because there was nothing leading up to it. The general rule with kino is to use it often and early (with some calibration, of course).
