A key concept in gaining physical compliance, compliance momentum is the idea of influencing the behavior of the target by increasing each compliance request. Starting from small compliances to larger requests, a PUA can reward the target accordingly through each request. Compliance should be a derivative of genuine attraction, and not from social pressure, fear or power plays.
Negative compliance momentum is the opposite, whereby a large hoop is thrown, and the target becomes less and less willing to comply with the artist’s request. It can also occur when the PUA incorrectly rewards bad behavior and punishes good compliance behavior. Creating compliance momentum is key to physical escalation of a target.
