Science is not slow about responding to NLP. It discredited it a long time ago. Do some research outside of what you hear in forums or NLP practitioners or self-help gurus tell you. You may as well apply phrenology to your pickup and start looking at your target's skull size or just ask them their star sign and use that to determine your approach. It never amazes me how so many intelligent people with so much access to information can follow pseudoscientific babble like the article above. As to gurus - well the motivation is pretty obvious. Another buck to be made.

NLP is an abbreviation for: The knowledge about how we use our language to get results in life. Sweet and simple. Actually, the article is not meant as a "this is it, that's it" - it's meant to cover only calibration - I apologize for any misunderstandings related to the headline. ;-)

Oh, and thanks AW.

I look forward to more comments and will happily reply with more in-depth info if asked :-)

It (NLP) applies to the organization of thought the the way thoughts are communicated to yourself and others. It has many applications outside of pickup as well. Unfortunately mainstream science has been slow in providing clinical tests and studies to prove the effectiveness of the technique, but its widespread use in PU and beyond is testament of its power on the mind.

NLP is great for pickup. You hear of all the top gurus recommending it or having used it themselves. It's basically sorting out your thoughts. That's my definition but its not got a solid definition.
